Adapting nutritional science to pathology. This session equips students with the specialized knowledge required to modify dietary protocols for clients managing metabolic diseases, cardiovascular conditions, and gastrointestinal disorders. What Students Should Know Entering This Session:

  • The physiological differences between carbohydrates, fats, and proteins (from Session 2).
  • The basic roles of micronutrients like iron, sodium, and calcium (from Session 3). Core Learning Objectives:
  • Formulate targeted macronutrient strategies to manage blood glucose and insulin sensitivity for clients with Diabetes and Insulin Resistance.
  • Design cardioprotective dietary protocols aimed at managing High Blood Pressure, Atherosclerosis, and general Cardiac Disease.
  • Modify food choices and meal structures to alleviate clinical symptoms of Stomach Ulcers, IBS, and Lactose Intolerance.
  • Structure trace mineral and cofactor interventions to clinically address different types of Anemia.
